Attune Flow Cytometer on leased lab bench in open labs

Quite a few companies have been purchasing their own Attune Flow Cytometers.  These machines are placed in open, shared lab spaces (on privately leased benches).  Most of these machines are analyzing cells that are BSL-2.

If you are considering purchasing a flow cytometer/cell analyzer, please know that ...

  • it requires a BUA amendment if you do not already have "flow cytometry analysis" indicated as an "experimental risk" on your BUA.  A site inspection may or may not be required.

  • you will need to read and sign the "Attune SOP" (link) required by Bakar Labs.

  • you will need to discuss your company's SOP with Bakar Labs Staff before using the instrument on your leased, open lab bench.

Please reach out to Bakar Labs Staff at support.bakarlabs@berkeley.edu for more on this topic. We are here to help get you working as quickly as possible on your new piece of equipment.
