Due to the sensitive and hazardous nature of the work being conducted at Bakar Labs, tenants need to adhere to our guest policy:
To host a visitor, please CLICK THIS LINK and fill out the form at least 24 hours in advance. You must submit a separate form for each guest. Guests should enter through the main entrance on 2630 Bancroft Way.
If you will be having many guests for the same meeting and want to avoid filling out a lot of forms, you can also submit a ticket with your guests' names, dates/times of arrival, and their company affiliation, organized as either a spreadsheet or a list.
On the day of the visit, a pre-printed label for your guest will be ready for you at the front desk for them to wear during their visit.
Planning for a lab tour. When considering whether it is appropriate to bring guests into open lab spaces use good judgment and keep a community minded orientation.
Prior to the visit, Consult with your neighboring bench occupants about whether a visit at a given time will be a significant imposition.
Consider offering a tour during off-peak hours, when there is less lab activity. Limit your lab tour time to the relevant place-based discussion. Non-vendor or investor type conversations should be continued elsewhere.
No more than three guests in the lab at any given time, as there isn't much space to maneuver. Guests are prohibited from entering the TC rooms at all times.
Notify your guests of laboratory hazards and offer them appropriate PPE. Minimum PPE required to enter the labs is no skin exposed from the waist down, typically as long pants/skirt, socks, and close-toed shoes. Depending on other work that is happening in the lab at the time of the visit, a lab coat, disposable gloves, and eye protection may also be appropriate. Let your guests know that the tour of the labs will be brief for the reasons described above.
Regardless of your plan, if you find that the lab is unusually busy or an unforeseen hazard is present, do not bring guests into the lab.
Photography or other types of recording are not permitted. See our Photography & Videography policy for more details.
A guest label (with name, host company or event name, date) is required for every person in the building without a Bakar Labs badge. If you see someone without either of these and they are unfamiliar to you, please let us know ASAP via Slack.
