We have many on campus resources that may have instrumentation and/or expertise that you can take full advantage. These generally fit into one of two groups: Core Facilities and Library Services
Core Facilities
We have an entire article dedicated to the UC Berkeley core facilities, which you can find here, but the gist is that there are a number of specialized facilities on campus that you can use to access specific pieces of equipment or services that are not available at Bakar Labs. This includes things like genomic sequencing services, or access to more advanced Mass Spectrometry devices. If you are interested in any of these facilities, the article includes information about how to reach out to the facility and set up an account and/or access. Please be aware that you will have to pay for each of these services, although some may offer a discount for Bakar Labs tenants.
Library Services
Most of the UC Berkeley Libraries are open to non-Student/Staff visitors, and you are welcome to go and browse books during their open hours. You can also purchase a UC library card if you'd like to borrow books from the library. Additionally, you can use the public computers to access the University's licensed databases and the articles contained therein. However, you will not be able to access these databases remotely, only via the public computers in the library itself.
Find the full details about using the libraries as a visitor here: https://www.lib.berkeley.edu/help/visitors
